Saginaw Valley’s athletic teams are known as the Cardinals, compete in NCAA Division II, and are members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Cardinals field teams in 16 varsity sports. In the 2012, the men’s soccer team were runners-up for the NCAA Division II National Championship.
